Here at Little Moose, we love all things Moomin and with the release of a fabulous new range of Moomin products by Disaster Designs, we thought we'd take a little look at the story which inspired the range.

The range features beautiful artwork from the 1977 Moomin tale 'The Dangerous Journey' written as ever by Tove Jansson. The heroine of this Moomin story is a young girl named Susanna who is out reading in the meadow one summer's day with her lazy old cat. She wishes for an adventure...
"You're old, Cat and you're lazy -
Too peaceful, too serene.
Not me! I'm wild and crazy
And I'm sick of all this green"
... and an adventure is what she gets! Susanna finds a pair of magic spectacles which transport her from the meadow to a dangerous but exciting world of volcanoes, swamps and dried up oceans. Birds fly by upside down and dangerous creatures threaten to pounce at any moment. Thankfully, all of our favourite friends from Moomin Valley are close by - Hemulen, Sniff, Snufkin, Thingummy and Bob are by Susanna's side and Moomintroll himself lends a helping hand courtesy of a big stripey balloon.
We're very pleased to have the Moomin Dangerous Journey Overnight Bag, Moomin Dangerous Journey Make-up Bag and the lovely Moomin Dangerous Journey Wallet available - as well as lots of other great Moomin bags, purses and more
To finish, here is a fun fact for you, half a million Scandinavian girls have been christened 'My' after Little My from the Moomin books.
